Xiaomi’s HyperOS operating system, which was launched last year, had encountered problems often seen in first-generation products. Although the company largely succeeded in its goal of uniting different product series under a single operating system, severe errors and performance issues were experienced on some smartphones.
However, with the upcoming HyperOS 2.0 update, Xiaomi intends to resolve these issues. According to industry experts, the company is making significant investments to optimize the operating system for a smoother and more responsive user experience.
According to a reliable source called Fixed Focus Digital, the following enhancements are expected in HyperOS 2.0:
- Cold start optimization
- Fixing lock screen errors
- Improvement of vehicle connectivity
- Support for a wider range of older devices
Also, it was leaked that the operating system might include a new feature called “Camera Scan”. This feature aims to detect hidden cameras using WLAN signals and increase user privacy. There is also an expectation that HyperOS 2.0 will provide a smarter and more user-centered ecosystem with its advanced artificial intelligence capabilities.

In Xiaomi’s side, there has been an interesting development. The withdrawal of Product Director and MIUI Experience President Jin Fan awhile back has led to speculations about his role in the development of HyperOS 2.0. Despite Xiaomi stating that Fan’s absence has nothing to do with the project, many in the industry believe that his expertise is critical for the success of the operating system.
No official release date for HyperOS 2.0 has been announced yet. However, predictions suggest that the operating system will be launched with the Xiaomi 15 series in late October. As you may recall, HyperOS was first introduced in China last October to replace MIUI with the Xiaomi 14 series, and then expanded to devices like Redmi Note 13 Pro series, Poco X6 Pro and M6 in India at the beginning of 2024.
With these developments, while Xiaomi aims to bring HyperOS to a wider range of devices, it also aims to significantly improve the user experience.
